A Sept. 28 auction in Poweshiek County, Iowa, saw 74 acres sell for $12,500 an acre. The 74-acres was part of a larger offering of 194 acres. The separate tracts were located northwest of Malcom.
The 74-acre tract offered 70 tillable acres and carried a CSR2 rating of 91.9. The cropland county average CSR2 is 67.0. The property was also located on a U.S. highway. It sold for $12,500 an acre. The offering included a small farmhouse on a 3.6-acre farmstead.
Tract 2 featured 119 acres, 114 acres of which were tillable. However, its CSR2 was 67.1. Some 29 of the tillable acres are enrolled in the CRP through September 2019 with an annual payment of $103.08 per acre.
