John Deere is expanding its C-Series air cart lineup with the introduction of the C1450T, the largest capacity option to date. The new air cart helps farmers achieve more acres between refills.
“Seeding windows continue to get tighter, and farmers are looking for ways to cover more ground without adding complexity,” says Benjamin Zelle, John Deere marketing manager for seeders and planters. “The C1450T is built to help them scale their operation with increased capacity, so they can stay productive and make the most of every available hour in the field.”
New C1450T Features Boost Efficiency and Field Time
To support its increased capacity, the C1450T introduces several new features designed to maximize uptime and simplify operations.
The EZLift system allows farmers to lift bulk bags and directly fill tanks one, two and three. The lift can reach bags on the ground, a trailer, a truck bed or the storage platform, while a bulk bag side storage platform provides extra bag storage for added convenience.
A new 16-inch hydraulic conveyor makes seed handling more efficient. Longer and wider than previous models, the conveyor enables faster tendering of product and provides increased clearance around the rear tires. A stainless steel hopper reduces maintenance needs, while the redesigned front platform features walk-over stairs for easier access across the hitch.
Tank No.1 on the C1450T features a 105-bu. Flex Tank. This larger tank offers increased versatility beyond just canola or inoculant — farmers can fill it with additional fertilizer or seed to increase acres per fill and extend field time.
The addition of a fifth tank further enhances versatility, allowing farmers to mix and match tanks to maximize acres per fill. This design increases the maximum number of products the cart can hold to five and provides greater flexibility for blending fertilizer on the cart.
Operations Center Logistics Optimizes Refill Timing and Productivity
Multi-tank seeders equipped with a G5 or G5 Plus CommandCenter display and G5 Advanced license gain access to the new John Deere Operations Center Logistics feature. This tool estimates how long and how much area remains until the tank is empty. The feature works with both flat-rate and variable-rate prescription applications.
C1450T Continues C-Series Tradition of Precision
The C1450T includes all the features of other C-Series carts, such as AccuRate meters, the EZCal calibration system, precision ag technology and integration with John Deere Operations Center.
According to John Deere, the corrosion-resistant, stainless steel AccuRate meters withstand abrasive granular fertilizers and seed treatments. The individually controlled electric meters can adjust speed independently, enabling higher-resolution prescriptions. With Curve Compensation and SectionCommand Pro, the meters provide farmers with up to eight times more precision in their seeding practices.
The C-Series carts also feature the industry-exclusive John Deere EZCal system — a push-button calibration system that’s faster and more efficient than older, manual bag calibration methods. The system eliminates the need to crawl under the cart while reducing the back-and-forth steps required to complete calibration.
