Michelin Tires for Heavy Harvesters
The VF520/85R42 CFO 177A8 CerexBib tire, a new model in Michelin’s Very High Flexion (VF) class, offers maximum load capacity up to 21,960 lb. VF tires are designed to flex more than standard radial tires while handling heavy harvesting equipment with large loads. The CerexBib, one of the first tires designed specifically for large combines and grain carts, has a 486 square inch tread footprint to improve traction in all conditions. Built with Michelin Ultraflex Technology, the tire operates with up to 40% lower air pressure than standard radial tires. This helps reduce the possibility of ruts and compaction in fields and protects potential yield. The CerexBib offers excellent service life, even at a lower pressure, because of a casing with reinforced sidewalls. McCormick Releases New Tractor Models
To accomplish farm tasks, McCormick’s X7 VT-Drive Series offers two new tractors with 160 and 194 maximum engine horsepower, respectively. Both models use BetaPower diesel engines. The X7.450 has a 4.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and the X7.670 has a 6.7-liter six-cylinder engine. Advanced SCR technology meet Tier 4 Interim emissions regulations. The continuously variable transmission offers groundspeeds up to 32 mph. Both models feature a standard rugged four-wheel-drive front axle. A fully locking front differential engages simultaneously with the rear differential to offer true four-wheel pulling for traction and performance in the field. Case IH Adds Vertical Tillage Tool
To manage heavy crop residue, Case IH’s True-Tandem 335 Barracuda vertical tillage tool quickly cuts, incorporates and evenly distributes residue down to 4". Built on a rugged, pull-through frame, the tool balances weight distribution over tough field conditions at speeds of 6 mph to 9 mph. It is available in 22' to 34' models. The 22" Earth Metal Barracuda blades enable the tool to reach deeper depths to break compaction layers and achieve a smooth field finish. New chisel-tipped serrations allow the valley between each tip to stay sharp extending the blade’s use. An 18° gang angle allows for soil mixing without backside blade compaction.
