Hagie Manufacturing LLC has announced it is building a limited number of enhanced STS16 Self Propelled Sprayers. New for 2017, the 1,600-gallon sprayer will include a 375 HP 9.0-liter John Deere PowerTech PSS engine, along with several other improved features.
The STS16 is Hagie’s largest applicator. The 2017 model will have new wheel hubs that generate 15% more torque to the ground. A repositioned rear engine hood creates more clearance for the machine’s cooling package. A 150-gallon fuel tank and conveniently located fuel ladder will give operators quick access to refuel and boost uptime.
The STS16 model has undergone many other changes during the past three years, including an enhanced drive system with traction control, new final drives, an updated cab and improved suspension, according to Kevin Marshall, product line marketing manager. It also marks the first collaboration between Hagie and John Deere since the two companies announced a joint venture in March 2016.
“Through this partnership we are generating momentum to better serve the needs of current, new, and prospective customers and equip John Deere’s global distribution network with Hagie’s innovative application solutions product portfolio,” he says.
Marshall says Hagie is taking orders for a limited production build of the STS16 for 2017. It will be available through the John Deere Dealer Channel.
