This week’s Pete’s Pick of the Week highlights an almost-30-year-old combine sold at Ryman Hill Farms Dispersal in Pennsylvania. On Sept. 12, a John Deere 9510 sidehill combine with 3,418 engine hours sold for $90,000 (no heads), the second-highest auction price in the past 13 years. When it comes to John Deere 9510s with more than 2,200 engine hours, it’s the highest auction price ever. The auction, put on by the Fraley Auction Company, had three other notable sales:
- John Deere 8410 with 3,930 hours sold for $124,000, the highest auction price on an 8410 this year.
- 1991 John Deere 4255 2WD with 5,500 hours sold for $49,000.
- Deutz DX160 with 4,170 hours sold for $16,500, the highest auction price on this model in more than 18 years.
Heading to Perryton, Texas, the Phsigoda Farms estate auction by Elite Auction Company had a few machines that caught Machinery Pete’s eye.
- 2014 Landoll 6250-40 disk sold for $65,000, the highest auction price Machinery Pete has seen on the model.
- 2018 John Deere 8370R with just under 3,500 hours sold for $175,000.
- 2016 John Deere 9470R four-wheel-drive with just under 4,800 hours sold for $155,000.
- 2024 John Deere 6155M with a loader and 533 hours sold for $145,000.
- 2012 John Deere 6430 with just under 3,800 hours sold for $70,000.
If it wasn’t for the John Deere 9510 sidehill combine, a 2001 two-wheel-drive John Deere 7710 with 2,839 hours that sold for $92,138 (US dollars) in Ontario, Canada, on Sept. 8 would have earned Pete’s Pick of the Week honor. Machinery Pete says “you could eat your dinner off of it because it was so nice.” This is the second-highest auction price ever on a two-wheel-drive John Deere 7710.
