Another big ruling from the U.S Supreme Court. This one has to do with the nation’s main anti-air pollution law. The high court is limiting how the law can be used to cut carbon dioxide emissions from power plants. The decision was a 6-to-3 vote, with conservatives in the majority.
The court says the Clean Air Act does not give the EPA broad authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. Instead, it said the agency is limited to plant-by-plant regulation.
Court watchers say the ruling could complicate the Biden Administration’s plans to combat climate issues.
