The USDA on Monday announced additional guidance on rules regarding growing hemp. The proposed regulations will be formally released on Thursday and then a 60 day period for comments by the public.

One of the items that the industry was eagerly awaiting was specific language regarding interstate transport of the hemp. Several states (such as Idaho and South Dakota) have arrested drivers for transporting hemp in their state.

Page 49 specifically states that no state or Indian Tribe will have the authority to stop the transport of hemp.
