Conservation is embedded in the DNA of farmers across the U.S. Yet the pressure for heightened environmental stewardship — and transparency into those practices farmers use — has never been greater. Introduced as the next wave of conservation agriculture in July 2019, the partners of America’s Conservation Ag Movement are on a journey to meet farmers where they are and provide resources with financial and environmental returns. Here are a few of the highlights.

What is ACAM?

America’s Conservation Ag Movement (ACAM) is envisioned as a decade-long partnership that brings farmers and the sustainability community together around the future of farming. This is done by bringing profitable, planet-friendly farming practices into the mainstream. We connect the dots, giving farmers a platform to share their journey, meet peers on the same path and access the resources they need to undertake change.

The Movement is organized by Trust In Food, a Farm Journal initiative, in partnership with the Farm Journal Foundation. Financial and technical support is provided by USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service and a broad coalition of partners: American Farmland Trust, Corteva, Ducks Unlimited, Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, National Corn Growers Association, National Pork Board, Sanderson Farms, SIMPAS, The Nature Conservancy, United Sorghum Checkoff Program and Valent.

To Connect With the Movement Today:

  • Go online at AgWeb.com/ACAM
  • Text ACAM to 31313 for updates on new resources.

Preview for 2021 and Beyond

In the year ahead, America’s Conservation Ag Movement will work alongside farmers to:

  • Launch new farmer-to-farmer learning networks in additional geographies and for specific commodity sectors.
  • Measure and publish data illustrating how farmers are thinking about, understanding, wanting and feeling capable of conservation agriculture adoption for economic and environmental returns.
  • Expand our editorial coverage to capture the diverse people and crops who make U.S. agriculture possible — with special emphasis on protein, feed and produce.
