Consultant Says Stress on Corn and Soybeans Mounting

Dr. Cordonnier once again lowers his corn and soybean yield pegs.

Crop consultant Dr. Michael Cordonnier has lowered his U.S. corn yield forecast by 3 bu. per acre to 156 bu. per acre due to mounting moisture and heat stress. As a result, he’s concerned about the success of pollination if these conditions persist.

Dr. Cordonnier lowered his soybean yield forecast by 0.5 bu. per acre to 42 bu., saying June has not been kind to the eastern and southern Corn Belt crop. Additionally, he says the intended increase in double-crop soybeans is at risk due to dry conditions.
