Informa Updates 2014 Acreage Pegs

Firms sees corn acres down from 2013, with cotton, soybean and wheat acreage higher.

Informa Economics has updated its 2014 U.S. acreage pegs, which sees corn acreage down from 2013 levels, while all wheat, cotton and soybeans are expected to pick up acres from last year. Following are more details:

  • Corn: Informa pegs 2014 acreage at 93.029 million, down 2.336 million from 2013.
  • Soybeans: Informa pegs 2014 acreage at 81.204 million, up 4.671 million from 2013.
  • All wheat: Informa pegs 2014 acreage at 56.648 million, up 492,000 from 2013.
  • All cotton: Informa pegs 2014 acreage at 10,955 million, up 548,000 from 2013.

USDA will release its Prospective Plantings Report on Monday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m., CT.
