An AgWeb.com Farm Equipment Special John Deere has introduced its DB60 Split-Row planter, offering configuration flexibility to plant 47 rows in 15-inch spacings, or 24 rows in 30 inch spacings.
“This is the most productive 15-inch planter we’ve ever offered,” says Rob Rippchen, division manager, John Deere seeding division. “The machine features the Central Commodity System™ (CCS) and Pro-Series XP™ row units. It can also be configured with the Refuge Plus™ option.”
Rippchen further explains, “Alternating row units are equipped with long, parallel arms, to stagger the units seven inches to the rear of the planter to enhance residue flow. These staggered rows can then be locked up and out of the soil when planting at 30-inch row spacing. You’ve got one efficient planter for both row crop applications.”
