Technology company Trimble, and Farm equipment maker CNH Global have announced a deal that will put Trimble Global Positioning System based automated steering systems exclusively in CNH tractors.

The GPS automated steering systems will initially be available for both New Holland brand TG and TJ tractors as well as Case IH MX Magnum and STX Steiger tractors. New tractors can be purchased with guidance capability. In addition, New Holland and Case IH dealers will be provided with aftermarket kits, which will enable them to retrofit existing current model New Holland and Case IH tractors in the field

“CNH and Trimble have realized success in the market place dating back to 1997. This strategic arrangement related to automated steering is a natural extension of our relationship,” said Alan Townsend, vice president and general manager of Trimble’s Field Solutions Division.

The two companies will cooperate on the design and development of the systems for the sub-inch and sub-four inch accuracy markets.
