Farmers will soon have more options if they want to add a smart sprayer to their equipment lineup.

A joint venture between Bosch and BASF Digital Farming, previously known as Bosch BASF Smart Farming, has announced a new global brand name, ONE SMART SPRAY. The new brand name will also apply to the product previously known as the Smart Spraying Solution.

The brand change comes after feedback from farmers across North America, South America and Europe, as the technology progressed toward full commercial launches.

BASF says ONE SMART SPRAY’s camera-based system detects weeds and sprays only where necessary and only as much as needed, providing customized agronomic recommendations, high-precision agronomic maps and automated documentation in one solution.

“ONE SMART SPRAY is the realization of a value proposition like no other available to farmers today. The camera-based system developed by Bosch detects weeds in milliseconds and precisely sprays only where necessary and only as much as needed. Using the field-specific data in a digital platform by xarvio Digital Farming Solutions, ONE SMART SPRAY also offers customized agronomic recommendations, intelligent sensitivity levels, high-precision agronomic maps, automated documentation and further features in one solution,” says Konstantin Kretschun, co-managing director of ONE SMART SPRAY. “This is truly smart weed control, which supports maximum input efficiency and more sustainable farming practices.”

The new brand follows recent announcements of commercial agreements with AGCO and Dammann and complements existing business contracts with Amazone and Stara
