Earlier this fall, Farm Journal introduced a new way for you to learn how to take corn yields to the next level. Growing from our popular Corn College live events, “Corn College TV” provides 30 minutes of agronomic coaching with Farm Journal Field Agronomist Ken Ferrie and Associate Field Agronomist Missy Bauer.
Tune in as Ferrie and Bauer provide their insights from nearly two decades of Farm Journal Test Plots. Hosted by Clinton Griffiths of “AgDay,” with field reports from Farm Journal Machinery Editor Margy Fischer, “Corn College TV” goes through every step in corn production to show you opportunities for higher yields.
The first season is a bumper crop that includes 13 episodes with tips you can take directly to the field. Every episode walks you through the Systems Approach, heads out to the field, explores new tools available in the farmer’s toolbox and discusses the agronomics of equipment. In
addition, Ferrie and Bauer answer questions they’ve been asked by farmers from around the country.
Think of it as your weekly lesson in corn production from the comfort of your recliner. “Corn College TV” ties together agronomy, crop management and technology. The show ranges from in-field diagnostics and the use of technology on your farm to emerging pests. The concepts and principles are taught in a way that enables every farmer to learn something new for his or her operation—no matter its size or geographic location.

Every week, “Corn College TV” airs on Wednesday following “AgDay” and on Saturday following “U.S. Farm Report” on RFD-TV. Although the series started this past fall, you can catch right up with the lessons. The 13 episodes will be reaired in sequence beginning the first week of December.
