Huskie Complete offers spring, winter and durum wheat growers postemergence control of grass and broadleaf weeds, even those resisting acetolactate synthase (ALS), Oxen and glyphosate chemistries. Approved by the Environmental Protection Agency in February, Huskie Complete can be used at a rate of 13.7 fluid ounces per acre. Trade approvals are pending, with approvals anticipated by the time the herbicide is used in 2012 spring wheat fields.

Containing a new active ingredient for weed control in wheat, thiencarbazone-methyl, and two modes of action, Huskie Complete controls grass weeds such as wild oats and green and yellow foxtail, as well as more than 50 broadleaf weeds, including ALS-resistant biotypes such as kochia, lambsquarters, Russian thistle and prickly lettuce.

“Most wheat fields contain a mixture of grass and broadleaf weeds, requiring the use of multiple products,” says John McGregor, cereals herbicide product manager for Bayer CropScience. “In one product, and one application, Huskie Complete provides cross-spectrum weed control.”

Huskie Complete can be applied to wheat from 1-leaf up to jointing. Application to grass weeds can be made up to emergence of the second tiller of the grass. Refer to the label for optimum application timing for broadleaf weeds.
