Inside-The-Bed Step
When you climb inside an empty grain truck bed, it’s difficult to get out. I made this inside-the-bed step with a piece of wire panel, 1" angle steel and 3/8" rod. The step is mounted 20" from the floor with three bolts. Now it’s easy to climb over the truck bed and reach the ladder on the outside.

Entry Door Inside Sliding Barn Door
When our calving barn needed a new sliding door, we cut a smaller door into it. We framed the opening and made the door from laminated plywood. The latch is made from scrap metal. Now we don’t have to open the big sliding door to go inside.

$200 Double Your Money Winner: The End of Crimped Tubes
When seeding alfalfa, the down tubes from the seeder box would get crimped on my no-till drill. So I drilled 24 13/16" holes through the deck and popped in used milking inflations. The inflations keep the tubes open, and I get an even spread of seed with no bare spots. Tim raises dairy cows, alfalfa, soybeans, wheat and hemp on the family’s Almeta Farm.
