$200 Double Your Money Winner: Snow Plow Skid Replacements
When our snow plow skids wore out, I made my own with jacks salvaged from a tillage tool. I added 8" disk blades to the bottom of the jacks and welded the units to the backside of the plow. With a few turns of the jack I can plow any surface. The disk blades are curved, but I marked each jack with 1" increments so I can crank it as needed.

Vent Cover for Seed Cart Auger
Birds kept building nests in my seed cart auger, so I purchased a magnetic air vent cover (like what you would use to block a home heater vent) and cut it to fit on the two ends of my auger when it’s in the transport position. When it’s time to auger seed, I just pull off the covers and stick them to the cart. When I’m done they’re handy to put back on to cover the augers again. No more pesky bird nests.

Chains for a Skid Steer
I made a set of tire chains for my skid steer using a No. 80 roller chain and a fork lift mast chain. Cut the chains to fit across the tires, and weld a tab on each end of the chains with a hole drilled for a bolt to slip through. Bolt a standard chain to the tabs and secure with a connecting link.
