FSA Updates Certified Acreage

Data used to update acreage for October Crop Production Report.

USDA’s Farm Service Agency just released updated certified acreage data. Following are highlights:

  • Total FSA Certified Acreage records in Sept. update = 160,707. That’s up just 1,098 from August data. Won’t change August trends.
  • Total Prevented Planted acres in FSA data = 10,906,209.00 That’s up from 10.612 million acres in August data.
  • Total Failed Acres in FSA data = 5,467,475.05 That’s up from 5.097 million acres in August data.

The acreage data is important as that is one of the tools the National Ag Statistics Service will use to help determine any updates to acreage for the October Crop Production Report.
