You can create a comprehensive business plan with six simple stages, thanks to a software program developed by Purdue University. INVenture, free business-planning software, can help your agricultural business succeed by laying out the required steps.
Maria Marshall, assistant professor in Purdue’s department of agricultural economics, says INVenture is a user-friendly program that serves as a one-stop shop for business planning.
“It is set up to help people think through the process of business planning,” she says. “By going through the process of business planning you increase your potential of being successful.”
Marshall says the software is set up in six stages that walk you through your business’ fundamentals, goals and markets. The software asks you questions, similar to visiting with a business planner, she says.
After users complete the six stages, an editable business plan is generated in Microsoft Word.
INVenture has been available from Purdue since 2004. Marshall says currently the program has more than 4,000 registered users.
