Insect Resistance to Bt is Growing

AgriTalk Radio interview with Dr. Bruce Tabashnik of the University of Arizona on the rapid increase in insect resistance to Bt traits and what farmers can do to slow the spread of resistant pests.

Researchers have confirmed a growing insect resistance to biotech crops. Rootworms are the most recent insect to develop resistance in the U.S. along with bollworms in cotton. University of Arizona entomologist Dr. Bruce Tabashnik says larger refuges are needed to extend the effectiveness of BT crops.
