Trimble Agriculture Acquires Tru Count, Inc.

Trimble Agriculture announced its acquisition of Tru Count, Inc.

Trimble Agriculture announced its acquisition of Tru Count, Inc. This includes all Tru Count assets and its line of air and electric clutches that are used on a variety of planters for automated individual planter row shutoff. The Tru Count clutches are compatible for use with Trimble’s GPS guidance technology. This transaction provides buyers with a single supplier when pairing Tru Count clutches with a Trimble EZ-Guide Plus lightbar, EZ-Guide 500 lightbar and FieldManager display, which can control the clutches when used with the EZ-Boom 2010 automated application control system and Trimble’s flow and application control components for a complete system. These clutches can be used on a variety of planter models, including brands like John Deere, KINZE, Case IH, White, Great Plains, Monosem, and CrustBuster. Tru Count began with a simple mechanical acre counter in 1982, and the company developed its first electric clutch in 1988. The Tru Count business will be part of the Trimble Agriculture division. All existing distribution agreements with Tru Count will continue and be respected by Trimble.
