Ohio-based Trupointe fertilizer and grain announces a new facility in the construction phase on 275 acres of ground near Milford, Indiana. The plant boasts it will only take 7 minutes to fully load a semi trailer with product and will have a storage capacity of 37,000 tons of dry fertilizer and 2.5 million gallons of liquid storage capacity.
The site is located near the CSX and NS rail lines and will serve as both a supply depot and a marketing center for crops.
Brad Jackson, Kosciusko County Commissioner told WSBT-TV, “With Trupointe they’ll be buying large quantities of grain not just from our area so with that market there with Trupointe’s purchasing that could drive up grain prices. They say it’s one of the largest projects in the state maybe the nation as far as dirt that’s being moved. It’s huge.”
The project is expected to allow easier access to inputs and bring marketing opportunities for growers in northern Indiana while providing good paying jobs for local citizens.
