Case IH is adding a 16-row folding mounted toolbar to its Nutri-Tiller 1000 series lineup. The new configuration, as well as a new knife/coulter option, is designed to increase productivity while maintaining strip quality.

“We are helping farmers cover more acres while improving soil health during a time where every minute counts,” says David Brennan, planter marketing manager at Case IH. “From there, pairing it with the 2000 series Early Riser planter creates an ideal agronomic partnership for improving soil health and starting the season off strong.”

Bridging No-Till and Conventional Approaches

The Nutri-Tiller 1000 series combines elements of conservation no-till and conventional tillage. The system maintains a protective layer of residue between rows to minimize soil erosion from wind and water, while placing fertilizer in a concentrated zone where roots will develop. This approach aims to improve nutrient use efficiency and support stronger emergence with fewer passes across the field.

Strip-Till to Planter Integration

When paired with the 2000 series Early Riser planter, the Nutri-Tiller establishes a seedbed designed for early, even emergence. Operators can adjust residue managers from the cab in real time, maintaining consistent strip cleanliness without additional tillage passes.

The Early Riser row unit places seed with consistent depth control directly within the strips created by the Nutri-Tiller bar. The integration is designed to maintain soil-to-seed contact from strip formation through planting, supporting root development and emergence.

Guidance Technology Maintains Alignment

Case IH FieldOps and Active Implement Guidance help guarantee the planter follows the same path as the strip-till pass. Through FieldOps, farmers can store and share guidance lines across their fleet. Meanwhile, Active Implement Guidance helps maintain strip to planter alignment by automatically correcting implement drift in real time. It also reduces crop damage and soil compaction.

“By combining tillage, planting and guidance into one seamless agronomic ecosystem, we are helping farmers build healthier soils, reduce operating costs and boost yield potential,” Brennan added.
