Filmed on his farm outside of Nashville, Fendt has partnered with Luke Bryan for a 25-episode YouTube series highlighting Bryan’s use of a Fendt 724 Vario on his land.
So who would the country super star have on his tractor playlist? He says the top three would be: Alan Jackson, Alabama, Joe Diffie.
The son of a Georgia farmer, Bryan is proud to have released eight or more songs about farming and being able to have land of his own today.
“With all of the blessings that I’ve had in music and my life, one interesting thing is because of my success in music, I have been able to acquire some farms where I get to take my boys fishing and hunting on,” he says. “So it’s funny I left Georgia, the son of a farmer and I went and tackled the music business and now I have my farm. It’s been a full circle moment for me.”
Bryan shares his farm gives him the opportunity to show his sons about work ethic and feeling pride in your work.
“I think the beauty of farm work is it does instill a lot of values when it teaches you how to work hard,” he says. “The beauty of when you’re on a tractor mowing or harrowing is there’s something you can actually look behind the tractor and see the work you’re doing. It’s tangible. You can touch it. You can feel it, and nothing’s more gratifying to that.”
He contrasts that with his experience in country music: “I remember when I moved to Nashville, I would write 20 songs, and not hear anything. So you didn’t know if you were going backwards or forwards. But, if I get my children and if there’s a 15 acre field that we need to go out there and till up and get ready for planting, when we’re done tilling up the 15 acres, my children can look back and go, ‘You know what we just did that’ and we put in a great days work and it was really satisfying and gratifying.”
Here’s the trailer and the first few episodes (each being about one minute long). New episodes are being released every Sunday and Wednesday at 6 a.m.—staying true to the theme of “Rise Before Sunrise.”
Bryan says he’s also looking forward to his farm tour. You can learn more about that here.
