Pete’s Pick of the Week highlights strong prices on like-new equipment. On Sept. 18, BigIron Auctions hosted a John Deere dealer auction that featured a 780-hp John Deere 9RX 710 with 402 hours. The 2025 model sold for $626,350. The auction also included:
- Two 2025 John Deere 9RX 640s, each with around 500 hours. One sold for $475,250 and the other brought $496,250.
- 2025 John Deere 8R 250 with 991 hours sold for $241,500.
- 2024 John Deere 8R 250 with 689 hours sold for $248,000.
BigIron Auctions also hosted the Mark Fenley Trust auction with equipment in Troy, Kan., and Wood River, Neb.:
- 2025 John Deere S7 700 combine with 436 engine hours sold for $502,750.
- 2025 John Deere HD35F flex draper head sold for $113,750.
- 2025 John Deere CR12 corn head sold for $110,500.
- 2022 John Deere 412R sprayer with 535 hours sold for $430,000.
- 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS pickup with 92,758 miles sold for $23,600.
Heading to Gretna, Neb., the Keith Braesch farm retirement auction by Schram Auction had a few sales that caught Machinery Pete’s eye:
- 2018 John Deere 8295R with 655 hours sold for $270,000, the highest auction price on this model in 3.5 years.
- 2008 John Deere 7330 Premium with loader and 1,285 hours sold for $136,500, the third highest auction price ever on this model.
- 1984 Case 2394 with 8,461 hours, the first ever made and repainted to Case IH colors, sold for $21,525.
- 1987 John Deere 4650 with 6,556 hours sold for $53,500.
Upcoming Auction: Late-Model Magnum and Cat Power
Looking ahead, Ritchie Bros. will have a sale on Sept. 28 in Burgessville, Ontario, Canada. The Malcolm Excavating retirement auction by Ritchie Brothers will feature:
