This week’s Pete’s Pick does not come from an auction company, but rather from the “for sale by owner” section on MachineryPete.com. A Hardi Ranger 2000 pull-type sprayer, with fewer than 1,000 total acres, is for sale at a starting price of $29,500. What this farmer-seller did well, according to Machinery Pete, is explain why he’s selling the sprayer. Machinery Pete also lists other sales from this section:
- 2022 Kubota L3302HST tractor, 160 hours, with a starting price of $27,000.
- H&S BTR power unload bale wagon and trailer with a starting price of $3,200.
- 2017 New Holland 27P platform with a starting price of $6,000.

1969 Massey Ferguson Tractor Tops $50,000
Machinery Pete recently attended Jon Kinzenbaw’s partial collector auction in Williamsburg, Iowa. A 1969 Massey Ferguson 1130 tractor with 4,220 hours sold for an “eye-opening price” of $50,250. Machinery Pete describes the condition of the tractor as “just looking like you wanted to eat dinner off of it.”
On the latest Machinery Pete TV episode, “Pete’s Vault” recalls the story of a 1992 John Deere 4960 tractor with only 14 hours. The tractor, which was featured on Machinery Pete TV in 2013, sat outside the Ohio owner’s machine shed for 20 years with trees growing around it before it was finally sold.
