I’m not pimping for this company, but after years of searching, this looks like a tool I’ve wanted for years.

I’m not pimping for this company, but after years of searching, this looks like a tool I’ve wanted for years. I’ve got arthritis in my hands that makes it challenging to hold together the ends of a big #60 or #80 chain while trying to insert a greasy, slippery master link.

PGN Bearings offers chain connecting tools that make that job easier.

They’re simple, clever tools that use a finger screw to pull two ends of a chain together so a master link can be installed. They offer one size for #25 though #520 chains, and another size tool for #60 through #100 chains. The smaller tool retails for less than $15, the larger tool for around $20. They’re available through PGN Bearings’ website or Amazon.

I’m not giving the tools my seal of approval, but I’m marking them as extremely interesting.
