The fate of major trade deals continues to be a pain point for U.S. agriculture, but President Trump is continuing to follow through on a campaign promise in the new year to take a tougher stance on trade.

Negotiations of the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) began Friday, and representatives from the Trump administration made it clear the trade deficit is a major concern with South Korea.

Jim Wiesemeyer, Farm Journal Washington correspondent, says the U.S. is aiming to knock tariffs on agricultural goods to zero, something that could be tough to accomplish.
