Apology
I’m sure most of you are familiar with having the occasional problem with a computer or your internet connection. About two weeks after my first posting, first my computer decided to cannibalize its own hard drive (as best I can understand), then our DSL internet connection developed issues which the phone company took nearly three weeks to isolate. I’m still fighting with them about billing for a nearly non-existent service. Maybe I should just go with our sat-TV provider. Having spent the last three months “borrowing” computer time from friends, my employer, and even my kids from time to time has made me think a lot about how pervasive the internet and personal electronics have become in our lives. I may write more about that later. Anyway, I hope I have everything worked out and should be able to post on a regular basis. I particularly want to thank Sara for bearing with me.
Disclaimer
Since I work for a public entity, I got to thinking over the last couple months that I should really just add a word about the material which is, and will be, contained in this blog.
What you read here is, and will be, a compilation of my thoughts and impressions only. Unless I state otherwise, they are not intended to represent any official position or policy of my employer or any of the organizations with which they are affiliated. I will do my best to try to remember to post links to any official policies or positions that are other than my own. If you find something that appears unsubstantiated, I would appreciate you letting me know ASAP, whether by email (address is in my blog introduction) or by blog comment.
Coming Soon!
1. I think I should give just a little more history, so that the uniqueness of our situation is very clear.
2. We have started planting, and I promised in the first posting to give some kind of idea of what our agricultural differences from the Midwest might be.
3. Does anyone else have an interest in Southern Gospel music? If not, I promise to keep those references to an absolute minimum. However, it’s a part of who I am, so I’ll need to at least mention it once in a “blue moon”.
I wish everyone a safe and successful planting season. Your safety is paramount to the success of your operation, and you are solely responsible for it. Have a great day!
