The Great Iowa Tractor Ride

I knew something was going on in Waterloo yesterday when traffic was stopped and a string of vintage tractors passed by. Then I figured it out…

Today concludes the 13th annual Great Iowa Tractor Ride organized by WHO Radio. It’s a three day event that stretches across 70 miles. The parade includes more than 450 tractors, and the riders tough it out through 90 degree temperatures and rain atop many vintage tractors without cabs or air-conditioning.

Here’s video of one rider as he waves to his family from a John Deere 435 Detriot Diesel. This video was taken as a group was leaving the Bremer County Fairgrounds.
