Just like a beauty queen: 1966 Massey-Ferguson 165

This tractor was featured for the month of October in the 2009 Classic Farm Tractor Calendar.

Looking like a beauty queen contestant with a perfect complexion, this multi-colored machine is pretty as a picture from any angle. The Massey-Ferguson early gas model had engines with 176 cu. in. and 47 PTO hp; later, larger engines came with 212. cu. in. at 52 PTO hp. This particular tractor has the 12-speed multi-power transmission. Collectors, note the four paint colors: Red/Rouge, Flint Metallic Gray, Silver Mist Gray, Aluminum. Owner Gene Taylor suffered a stroke, lost his job, and has found tractor restoration to be an enjoyable pastime.

Owner: Gene and Cindy Taylor

Savannah, Missouri

It wasn’t pretty when he bought it. Wouldn’t run, motor was locked up tighter than a bank’s safe, it needed paint and tires. It has been exposed to the elements for several years, but, baby look at it now. Gene did all the engine work. A friend, Jason Keller, did the paint job.
