One of 917 1958 John Deere 320 U

This tractor is featured for the month of June in the 2013 Classic Farm Tractors Calendar.

You’re looking at a rare John Deere. Only 917 were built in 1957 and 1958; of those only 199 were slant-steer type, and less than 70 were Utility slant-steer models like this one in industrial yellow. Thi sis a lower horsepower, lower cost version of the larger Model 420. It rated about 22 drawbar hp. Because of its limited numbers, it’s often the most valuable of the entire 2-cyl. 20 Series from 1957-58. The owner displays the 320 in the museum in Carlisle, Iowa. His John Deere gas pump is unique—he restored and recreated it, adding John Deere signage—though Deere and Co. had no brand of fuel.

Done is retired and gets a band out of his collection of prized, small tractor, rotating makes and models of nearby collectors. This one is his favorite.
