Three Nebraska farmers are pleading guilty to marketing non-organic corn and soybeans as certified organic, according to the Associated Press.

Three Nebraska farmers are pleading guilty to marketing non-organic corn and soybeans as certified organic, according to the Associated Press. The multi-million-dollar fraud involved Tom Brennan, his son James Brennan and family friend Michael Potter.

The trio will each plead guilty to one count of wire fraud. According to the Associated Press, prosecutors allege the three conspired with the owner of an Iowa-based company to sell the fraudulent grain. All three farmers operated in Overton, Neb.

They sold fraudulent grain for seven years.

  By far the bigger fraud is the marketing gimmick called organic food is somehow better or healthier than modern farm products. There is no science-based evidence to support any of this BS, none.

  SBaker, you are wrong. Plus, the consumers want organic food, not the GMO/Roundup Ready junk the big seed, big ag, and big chemical is pushing. Why do you think conventional corn is $3/bushel? Not a big demand for it obviously. Been certified organic for over 10 yrs, and I'm not going back. And what are "modern farm products" ? JUNK!!

  Glyphosphate has been banned in some countries along with GMOs. Birth defects and crop failure was the results. So we pay more for organic and theres someone there to scam your dollar. Grow your own ...science is clear that pesticides kill.
