Join Clinton Griffiths as he chats with Ken about wet soil, dry soil, cold soil, herbicide and nutrient sins and explores ways to identify the cause, seek forgiveness and change for the sake of a vertical root system so water can move up and down.

9 a.m. Weather or Not: The Outlook for Planting

Cold, hot, just-right temps? No rain, too much rain, just-right moisture? Nothing plays a bigger role in planting progress than the weather. Pro Farmer’s Davis Michaelsen will check in with leading meteorologists for the latest weather outlook.

10 a.m. Total Field Makeover: Trials and Tribulations

Join Mitchell Hora and Millennial Farmer Zach Johnson as these two farmers take you on a tour of Hora’s Washington, Iowa, farm. Hora, founder of Continuum Ag, will show some of his cover crops and field trials in progress. Hora and Johnson will also visit some Washington County neighbors to discuss precision planting and innovations in farming.

11 a.m. Corn Planter Setup: From Hitch Pin to Closing Wheels

Is your planter ready to perform? Farm Journal Field Agronomist Missy Bauer will walk you through a 10-point planter prep and maintenance checklist before you head to the field. The video tutorial will review components such as the transmission, down pressure, parallel arms, gauge wheels, openings disks, seed tubes, guards and firming points.
