My eyes were opened by FFA. As a proud member of the Jamestown, Mo., chapter, I learned the world was much bigger than my hometown (population 382).

The years I spent in the organization taught me everything from how to memorize a five-paragraph creed, find common ground with a stranger, identify a white oak, operate a MIG welder and determine cash flow.

My supervised agricultural experiences of selling straw and raising broiler chickens expanded my knowledge and provided a nice nest egg for my years at the University of Missouri. (I’ll never forget my grandma teaching me how to butcher a chicken and all those summer nights spent with my family plucking feathers.)

I can personally attest to FFA’s powerful lessons of premier leadership, personal growth and career success. It led me to my profession and many of my longstanding friends.

#FARMON TOGETHER

Since FFA has made a lasting difference in so many lives, we are excited to partner with the organization for the #FarmON Benefit Concert. Attendees at the Aug. 26-27 Farm Journal Field Days event in Colby, Kan., can see Easton Corbin live.

This concert provides a direct channel for people to show their support and donate to FFA. Plus, it is a thank you to everyone who makes agriculture one of America’s greatest industries. Let’s celebrate together.
