AgriTalk Special: A Day of Ethanol

On Thursday, AgriTalk celebrated “A Day of Ethanol.” A host of guests chimed in on how the industry contributes to the country’s economy and energy security as well as plays a role in addressing climate challenges.

On Thursday, AgriTalk celebrated “A Day of Ethanol” in partnership with the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA). AgriTalk host Chip Flory welcomed Jim Wiesemeyer, Pro Farmer policy analyst, and Mark Recker, northeast Iowa farmer and ethanol action team chair at NCGA, on the morning broadcast to help facilitate the conversation with the following guests:

Emily Skor, CEO of Growth Energy —

  • Year-round availability of E15
  • Climate goals and how ethanol fits into those targets

Geoff Cooper, president and CEO of Renewable Fuels Association —

  • California’s policies, such as the low-carbon fuel standard, and how they impact the direction of the ethanol industry
  • E10 and E15 demand
  • How electric vehicle mandates and the Next Generation Fuels Act might impact ethanol demand

Mark Palmer, director of renewable fuels at NCGA —

  • Core issues that drive NCGA efforts in regard to renewable fuels
  • Outreach and education with the Biden administration and on Capitol Hill
