Informa Releases U.S. Acreage Intentions

Sees corn, soybeans and all wheat acres up from 2011.

Sources familiar with Informa Economics say the firm has released its 2012 U.S. acreage estimates. Following are details:

  • Corn: Informa reportedly pegs acreage at 95.513 million acres, up 3.592 million from 2011.
  • Soybeans: Informa reportedly pegs acreage at 75.128 million acres, up 152,000 from 2011.
  • All cotton: Informa reportedly pegs acreage at 13.698 million acres, down 1.034 million from 2011.
  • Spring wheat: Informa reportedly pegs acreage at 13.793 million acres, up 1.399 million from 2011.
  • Winter wheat: Informa reportedly pegs acreage at 41.537 million acres, up 891,000 from 2011.
  • All wheat: Informa reportedly pegs acreage at 57.745 million, up 3.336 million from 2011.
