“Super dry. No rain, soon will be no crops,” a Nebraska farmer recently reported on AgWeb’s Crop Comments page. “Corn with brown ears dropping. Beans have the gray look. Disaster. And high inputs. Major disaster.”

USDA recently rated less than 60% of the U.S. corn crop in good or excellent condition. Many producers have been struggling with drought this year, but the good news is that a few areas of the country were expected to see some rain this week.
