Farmers can’t achieve weed-free fields without a solid foundation. They need a powerful preemergence solution to help start the season strong and keep fields cleaner. Kyber® Pro herbicide gives soybean farmers premier, season-long weed control for a whole new level of cleaner fields. The soybean herbicide features three modes of action — including Groups 5, 14 and 15 active ingredients — and provides up to six weeks of residual activity for long-lasting control of some of the toughest PPO- and ALS-resistant weeds.

Available for the first time in 2025, Kyber Pro herbicide has proven to deliver cleaner fields compared with other soybean herbicide solutions. Ron Geis, market development specialist with Corteva Agriscience, said Kyber Pro herbicide demonstrated exceptional performance against other herbicides in one of the various trials he observed earlier this year.

“In northern Iowa, we conducted a dozen trials in demonstration plots where we compared Kyber Pro with other products, including some other herbicides from the Corteva portfolio,” Geis said. “What we saw with Kyber Pro was longer season control of waterhemp, more so than any other weed. It really outperformed all other products.”

Not only do farmers need new solutions to combat hard-to-manage weeds, but they also need products to help them mitigate weed resistance issues. Because Kyber Pro features three modes of action, the soybean herbicide empowers farmers to make a successful preemergence application that helps them fight weeds and resistance – especially when used in a program approach. At its core, a program approach to weed control and resistance management features tillage practices and products with multiple modes of action for improved results.

As he continued to monitor the plots, Geis noted that the extended residual from Kyber Pro herbicide delivered cleaner fields longer than some other products. He added that extended residual activity in a preemergence herbicide is important for farmers because it’s key to postemergence application flexibility and season-long weed control.

“By starting with clean fields and keeping them clean longer, farmers have a wide window to make effective postemergence applications without having to worry about weed size,” Geis said. “Because Kyber Pro herbicide provides up to six weeks of residual control, that gave us the ability to time our postemergence application to where we could still manage small weeds.”

As farmers begin making their management decisions for next season, Geis emphasized that trials play an important role in choosing the best-fitting products for their operations.

“The sooner farmers have confidence in what a product is able to do for them, the sooner they can adopt it into their weed control program and stay ahead of weed problems,” Geis said. “In the first year or so of a product being made available, it’s good to have that data early to help build confidence so farmers know what to expect.”

Additionally, Geis said farmers should consider best management practices for products, read and follow label recommendations and work with their local ag retailer for support.
