Agriculture in the Czech Republic has not had an easy road. Throughout history heavy governmental involvement made the country’s agriculture industry shrink, expand and finally somewhat flourish.
Bohuslava Bouckova, a professor at the Czech University of Life Sciences, says her country has faced numerous challenges and setbacks in the past.
She says some of the main challenges today include:
- Unfinished transformation in land ownership
- Political changes, equaling agriculture not being a top priority
- Overall image of agriculture in public eye
