ALERT August 18, 2015 -- Book 50% of fall fertilizer needs
Last week, our Nutrient Composite Index tested a long time low and this week, bounced higher with nitrogen, phosphate and potassium all higher in our retail price survey. Wholesale prices have stabilized and as dealers complete summer fills, this week’s price action requires some active risk management.
Book 50% of fall fertilizer needs. The chart at right shows prices have fallen through harvest, but our appetite for risk on 100% of fall nutrient has run out. Get ahead of potentially higher fertilizer prices at harvest and book 50% of fall nutrient at current prices.
