Farm Journal Foundation Announces New CEO

The Foundation has named Tricia Beal as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Philadelphia, PA. (October 6, 2014)—The Farm Journal Foundation’s rapid growth over the past three years has led to hiring the organization’s first full-time CEO, replacing Board President Charlene Finck. Finck has led the Foundation since 2011, while also serving as Senior Vice President, Editorial at Farm Journal Media.

The Foundation has named Tricia Beal as the new Chief Executive Officer. In her new role, she will be responsible for advancing the Foundation’s mission of sustaining agriculture’s ability to meet the vital needs of a growing population through education and empowerment and growing its anti-hunger platform, Farmers Feeding the World.

“Tricia comes to us with a distinguished background and a strong passion for agriculture’s contribution to global nutritional security. It is a great privilege to have her as our new CEO and leader of the Farm Journal Foundation,” said Andy Weber, Farm Journal Foundation’s Board Chair. “At the same time, I want to thank Charlene Finck for the enormous contributions she has made to bring the Foundation to the level we are today. We are grateful that she will continue to serve as our Foundation Board President.”

Prior to her new role, Beal spent the past eight years at Novus International, Inc. and held the roles of Chief of Staff and Head of Corporate Initiatives. She was accountable for extending organizational capacity, managing a global partnership portfolio, building corporate brand and reputation, and engaging employees in more than 50 countries into the organization’s vision of all people having access to safe and affordable food.

“Nutritional security is the most important health and economic issue facing our world today. The mission, programs and partnerships of the Farm Journal Foundation are well-aligned to play a significant role in feeding a hungry world,” said Beal. “I look forward to further extending the Foundation’s impact.”

Beal serves as a member of several boards, including the World Agricultural Forum, and has served as Program Co-Chair of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) World Forum for the past two years in Atlanta, Georgia and Cape Town, South Africa. In 2014, she graduated as a class VX member of Agriculture Leaders of Tomorrow and participated in the Harvard Business School’s Agribusiness Seminar in Shanghai, China.
