Dixie Chopper has a new CEO for the first time since the company’s beginning. After 28 years of business, founder and past president Art Evans announced that Gary Morgan will continue the company’s leadership activities. Morgan previously worked for Case New Holland, most recently as manager of New Holland Agriculture for North America. In the transition, Evans will take a position on the board of directors and continue to work in the research and development area of the company—an area that has always been special to him. In other Dixie Chopper news, Bill Cary has been named territory manager for the New England area. The states included in the territory are Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. Cary’s primary responsibilities will center on the expansion of the Dixie Chopper dealer network. The company was founded in Greencastle, Ind., where the headquarters will remain. Dixie Chopper is one of only two family-owned lawn mower makers that are based and operating in the U.S.
