Producers in areas such as the Red River Valley are currently facing record flooding. There’s no doubt this wet start to the farming season will cause challenges and hiccups to the 2009 planting calendar.
“With increased soil moisture, there will be more weed pressure,” says John McGregor, Bayer CropScience Herbicide Product Manager for Wolverine. “When growers come out this season, they are really going to be pressed for time.”
Wolverine, new wheat and barley herbicide, recently registered by Bayer CropScience will help producers affected by flooding and late planting dates, he says. Wolverine offers control of more than 60 hard-to-control grasses and broadleaf weeds at a single rate.
McGregor says since Wolverine targets both broadleaf weed and grass pressures, it will eliminate another pass through the field with another product. “Wolverine is a simple and convenient herbicide because it is used at one rate, regardless of weed size,” he says.
