Proptec™ and Curtec® Sprayers will offer an in-field technology demonstration of their rotary atomizer-based spray technologies for horticultural crops during the AgConnect Show in Orlando, Florida. The off-site evening demonstration will feature Proptec™ and Curtec® sprayers configured for high speed low volume application in orange groves. To show the machine’s capabilities, nontoxic fluorescing dye will be sprayed at low volumes typical to this equipment. Application will be backlit for exceptional visibility in the grove, and ultraviolet lights will be provided for attendees to get into the foliage and view spray results up close.
These novel technologies utilize rotary atomization, a spraying process using no nozzles or pressure, and high-volume air delivery for maximum productivity and effectiveness in difficult canopies like citrus. Rotary atomizers can uniformly apply at rates as low as 1 gallon per acre (10 Liters/Ha), to 100 or more gallons per acre (1000 Liters/Ha) with the same machinery. Unprecedented productivity allows economical spraying for psyllid/greening control as well as all other pest control and nutritional application needs.
