2011 Equipment Sales Off to a Strong Start

January unit sales show a running start to machinery sales.

According to the January 2011 Flash Report from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, farm machinery sales rose above data from the beginning of 2010.

Although unit sales of 100+ hp tractor was down 11% for the month, total two-wheel-drive tractor sales were up 2.2%, four-wheel-drive tractor sales were up 72.7%, and combine sales were up 53.6%. The January 2011 data is just below the five-year-average for that month.
