Air Carts and Air Drill Updates
With the dual goal of highly accurate fertilizer and seed placement Case IH recently introduced new features to the Precision Air 5 Series air carts and Flex Hoe 900 air drills.
Additional configurations and options add more versatility for fertilizers delivered with the Precision Air 5 carts. For example, the liquid-ready fertilizer tank includes a product lid and overflow line, 3’ bottom suction port, tank rinse nozzle and site gauge.
New configurations, options and other features enhance productivity and versatility of the Flex Hoe air drills. A larger 80-ft. working width is now available. In an effort to plant almost any seed at any rate, the new sunflower roller applies oil-type sunflower seed consistently. The fill system’s auxiliary tank has been redesigned with a gravity system, creating a faster, more intuitive and more uniform filling. The company highlights how redesigned air packs are easy to use, and provide an optimized path for seed and fertilizer. A high-floatation tire package with 340/60R15 radial implement tires improves compaction in wet soil conditions.
Tech to Maximize Yield Potential
AFS Furrow Command downforce automation is available for pairing with the Precision Disk series air drills. The system automates downforce settings air-drill row units and maintains consistent seed depth regardless of terrain. The hydraulic pressure for each frame section is adjusted independently. Operators receive feedback on AFS Furrow Command on the seeding monitor in the cab. An additional benefit to the improved seed placement is maintaining gauge wheel contact with the ground for reduced component wear.
