Despite Inventory Concerns, Tractor Sales Climb Nearly 40% Year to Date

The Association of Equipment Manufacturer’s releasing its April “flash report”. AEM shows sales of all tractors were up 39% year to date, while smaller tractor sales were up 21% compared to last year.

An improving farm financial situation is benefitting the agricultural equipment sector. As a result, tractor sales continue to do well.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturer’s releasing new numbers in it’s monthly “flash report”. AEM shows sales of all tractors were up 23% last month compared to the same month last year. And in the first four months of the year, sales are up 39% year to date.

For April, two-wheel drive smaller tractors are up 21% from last year. While 40 and under 100 horsepower sales were up 29%.

Combine sales were down 3-percent for the month, but 9% higher than the first four months of 2020.
