Iconic duos are plastered throughout history: Scooby and Shaggy, Thelma and Louise, John Deere and green; and Busch Light and rural Iowa. Now, two of those names are teaming up to create a tribute to farmers, while raising money for Farm Rescue.

This week, Anheuser-Busch officially announced limited edition "For the Farmers" John Deere themed Busch Light cans. The special beer cans will be sold across the Midwest May 16-July 3, and $1 from each sale will be be donated to Farm Rescue. Anheuser-Busch says up to a maximum of $100,000 will go to Farm Rescue, and John Deere will then match that donation.

“Farm Rescue is honored to be the beneficiary of this incredible joint effort between Busch Light and John Deere,” says Bill Gross, Founder & President, Farm Rescue. “Both companies have been incredible supporters of our mission, and this latest partnership truly solidifies their commitment to American agriculture. Although farmers only represent one percent of the total population, they have a big responsibility in feeding the world. With the money raised through this one-of-a-kind promotion, Farm Rescue will be able to extend a helping hand to many more farm families in crisis.”

Driving across rural America during prime planting or harvest time, you'll often see the iconic yellow and green farm equipment working in fields as MachineryPete.com data shows more than 48% of auction sales are John Deere equipment.

"Over the past 22 years,  I’ve compiled 147,886 auction sale prices on tractors," says Greg Peterson, founder of Machinery Pete. "A staggering 48.2% have been John Deere, and this includes all HP ranges, ages of tractors, etc. And of the current 4322 used tractors for sale on the MachineryPete website in 175+ HP range,  52.2% are John Deere. So this shows you that John Deere has been best selling tractor."

Farmers have a passion for the green and yellow, but also a love for Busch Light beer. Data shows Busch Light is a popular beer brand in the Midwest and rural America, but especially in Iowa. The Iowa Wholesale Beer Distributors Association reports nearly 16 million gallons of Busch Light were shipped to Iowa in 2015, making it the most popular beer brand.

The limited edition "For the Farmers" beer cans will be available in either a 24 or 30-pack case of 12 oz. Busch Light cans. The cans' artwork features a John Deere's 9RX series four-track tractor, corn fields and Busch Light's iconic mountains that can be found on any can.

Anheuser-Busch is building excitement and awareness for the partnership, as well as Farm Rescue's mission, with a "Cornfield Cornhole Consumer Event," which is aimed at becoming the world's largest cornhole tournament on Saturday, May 21, 2022 in Big Bend, Wisc. Tickets are required to compete.

Farm Rescue, which could receive up to $200,000 in donations from sales of the limited-time beer can, was founded in 2005. The nonprofit organization says its mission is to help farmers and ranchers who have experienced a major illness, injury or natural disaster. Farm Rescue provides relief through equipment, volunteer labor and more.

Busch Light says it has been a proud partner of the Farm Rescue Foundation since 2019 and has contributed over $750,000 in donations to date.

The potential sales are already driving excitement, with an early look at the new beer cans plastered on social media. That excitement may be because this is the first time John Deere has ever partnered with a beer brand, or the fact John Deere fanatics can't wait to get their hands on a beer can will serve as art in their farm office. No matter the reason, those interested in snagging the limited-time cans have until July 3, 2022 to do so.
