Big Iron Expands Service

Online equipment auction company grows.

Big Iron, a Midwest-based unreserved online auction service, announces the expansion of its services. Now included in the company’s service area are: Colorado, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Specializing in the online sale of agricultural, construction and fleet equipment, Big Iron is committed to enhancing the ease of the auction process by connecting buyers and sellers through its unique approach to online equipment auctions. Prospective buyers can, and are encouraged to, communicate directly with sellers. Sellers are not required to ship or haul equipment to Big Iron’s corporate headquarters; rather, the company employs 14 district managers in 22 defined territories. District managers are responsible for generating listings, inspecting equipment, and creating detailed equipment bios, complete with photos, owner information and operation history. The company views this strategic placement of district managers as one of its biggest assets.
With the expansion, Big Iron has appointed two new district managers. Mauricio Peterson was recently promoted from Big Iron territory manager to district manager for the state of Wisconsin. Prior to working as a territory manager, Peterson spent more than 13 years in the agricultural industry. He has been focused on creating a strong presence in Wisconsin, hiring 7 territory managers thus far, with the goal of bringing onboard 13 total. A former territory manager for Nebraska, Kurt Campbell has been appointed district manager for both Colorado and Wyoming. With more than 10 years experience in the equipment and auction industries, Campbell feels his understanding of the auction process, as well as extensive knowledge of agricultural and construction equipment will help him to communicate Big Iron’s services and grow the company in terms of both customers and equipment volume.
Big Iron holds bi-monthly online auctions on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, featuring a 1,000 pieces of equipment sourced from nearly all the 48 continental states. Currently, the company is planning for continued growth and local representation in several neighboring states including, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.
